Little girls and little boys

**Updated** Little Men has been spoken for and is no longer available.

ATCs are just plain fun!
I love making them.
I have also discovered that I love collecting them.
If you would like to trade for one or two or three of these, let me know.

97 more to go....

By popular demand, (oh, yes indeedy--just read the comments) here is dress #3.

In keeping with the other two, I maintained the same basic layout.....

......but soon found I had more to go on it than I had room to place it. "So, just hang it from the bottom," says I:
These paper dresses reminded me of a book I read a long time ago called The Hundred Dresses, by Eleanor Estes. If you have not read it, I urge you to do so. It is a short little children's book you can probably get at your local library. You will be glad you did.

A dress of a different color

If you've been around this blog for very long, you surely have noticed that after pink, my favorite color is orange.

This is one of the other dresses I alluded to in my last post--the one with the pink dress.

Do I go for three in a row? We'll see...............

Playing dress-up

When I was a little girl, I loved paperdolls. I liked to make my own clothes for them. Sometimes my mammaw would get an old Simplicity pattern book for me to play with. Those things were a treasure trove of dolls and clothes! Hours of fun! I thought about that as I made this piece. I already have more dresses cut out, so be expecting more........

Valentine Party

What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than with a party?

It's even better when someone else is hosting! In this case,
Soul Journal!

Here are my love-ly contributions:

Framed!

For no good reason, I have not done any valentine-y things. Come to think of it, I don't do very much seasonal stuff at all. Hmmm....wonder why? Moving on........

This little fluff piece has a heart and flowers, so I will call it a Valentine piece. It must have inspired me, because immediately after finishing it, I did a 'real' valentine piece! But I am saving it for a Valentine party I am participating in on Thursday...just in case....

Y'all, I'm feeling wild and crazy.....there may be another valentine a brewin'!

Art Creations Friday

I may or may not have noticed this particular challenge before, but I was inspired to participate today by Barbara and Kris. These two gals' lovely work can inspire anybody. They are a couple of my favorites. Here is my take on Art Creations Friday, Challenge #12:

As promised, I am posting the layout I did for Tammy's book. In our Round Robin, we are doing board books with each participant choosing her own theme. Tammy's book is called "Cozy Cottage." The book even has a bit of a house shape to it. When I was thinking through my interpretation of cozy, I kept coming back to nests and mothers. This is how I portrayed those cozy thoughts in collage:

Whether you are the child of a human or a baby bird,
whether you live in a house or a nest,
when it comes to cozy creature comforts,
HOME is always best. **
**I wrote that as one line, but when i discovered it rhymed I turned it into a poem! I'm a poet and didn't know it!! :)

Tagged

Barbara at Artiphy the Heart tagged me with this directive: "go to my computer's picture files, then go to the 6th folder, then go to the 6th picture and display it."

This is my grandson Alan at Ronald McDonald House this past September, the day before he went into the hospital for an abdominal surgery to correct a post-liver transplant complication. I am happy to say that this was his last hospital admission to date, unlike the previous 6 months when the admissions had been many! To read Alan's story go here.

The next part of this tag is to pass it on and tag 6 other people. Those lucky players shall be:
Lisa (the other one)
This was a fun, easy tag. I hope you have fun with it, too!
