Capturing the still life

After lunch today, I forbade my fanny to sit down in my recliner.
Instead, I gathered up an assortment
of   items   stuff   junk and built a little
make-shift studio near a window.

I love taking photographs.
I'm taking more and more of people, and even quite a few of landscapes and scenery,
but my still lifes need some work.

I think I do pretty well composing  portrait shots and landscapes.
I really like that part of the process, about as much as the editing post-process.

With no people or spectacular scenery to practice on today, I played around with a still life shoot

SOOC

Basic editing: sharpen, levels, white balance, repair background

Texture: "and then some" by Kim Klassen

Don't you just love seeing the progression from
 straight-out-of-the-camera to finished product?
I have a few more examples hanging out in my photoshop project
 bin to share later.

The negative space on the left kind of draws you in!
I love the texture on that last one.

Wow, that texture just makes the picture a piece of art! Great job!

I do love seeing the progression of sooc to the texturized one. That little birdy is a cutie!
