I'm considering renaming my blog to something more descriptive of what you find here. These are the possibilities:
A Box of Chocolates
(because in the words of Forest Gump, you never know what you're going to get.)
or
Monkey See, Monkey Do
(because I just bounce around blogland copying what I see and like.)
As of late, I have been enjoying such blogs as
and
and
There are tons of them out there--just Google 'refashion'
What these gals do with ugly thrift store clothing is amazing.
You know what's coming, don't you?
Monkey went to the thrift store and tried her hand at it.
Before: a rather tired peasant blouse |
What I did to it, in a nutshell |
Add a casing and elastic across the top--Viola!
Shirt to skirt!! |
Coaching the photographer |
I have to wonder if these refashioning gals have as much trouble or hear as much grumbling from their photographers as I did. ;) Something tells me they do. (Thanks, hon!)

How clevah.
Ka-yute! I have to say that piece is way more flattering as a skirt than it is a top!
Now what can I go cut up....
Amy, you have to go a thrift shop and find something too big and a bit ugly. ;)
I hear ya, girlfriend. I feel the same way about my own blog. Nigel's Mom is certainly not who I am. I only picked that name cause someone called me that on the day I started the blog...all I could think of at the time kind of thing. I have been thinking about either giving it a facelift or dumping the entire thing. Anyway, as far as your blog name I vote for 'Box of Chocolates'. Anything with chocolate has to be good. Speaking of which that chocolate brown outfit is off the chain!
Plus, the title of your post would make a good name 'You Never Know'.
I know I already told you on the phone yest., but that skirt is too darn cute!!! I love the journeys you take us on in each post! :-)
Wow! This is great! You are so clever! Love your modeling, too!
I think your blog name is perfect the way it Is! It's a quiet, peaceful name and I always get inspired when I visit.
